He made his first appearance in comics in Animaniacs: A Christmas Special. CreationYakko was originally created by Tom Ruegger for the Animaniacs television show. They remained there more or less continuously for several decades before permanently escaping in September of 1993 to cause chaos anew. He and his siblings ran wild on the studio lot for some time before being captured and locked away in the Warner Bros. was severed due to their antics and their odd work. Eventually their contract with Warner Bros. He, Wakko and Dot quickly overshadowed this other character in popularity, but their work grew increasingly surreal and bizarre. However, when Bob Daley, who ran the studio at the time, saw the balloon, he thought that a misshapen Mickey Mouse (who was owned by Disney, Warner's rivals at the time) was sitting on top of the tower and he demanded it be removed.OriginYakko was created in 1929 alongside his siblings as supporting cast for a preexisting character. An inflatable balloon of the character was made once to promote the original show, sitting on top of the water tower.Yakko is some level of lactose intolerant.His idol is famous actress Michelle Pfeiffer (who in the series was portrayed in the Catwoman outfit she wore in Batman Returns).In some episodes, he is seen writing with his left hand, and in others, he is seen writing with his right hand. In an interview with Tom Ruegger in Talkin' Toons With Rob Paulsen episode 14, he states that Yakko is 14 years old.His design is also based on the 2020 Hulu reboot, though his head is significantly darker than the rest of his body. The pants are held up by a large black belt with a golden square buckle.
He wears a pair of smoky topaz slack pants that go up to his waist. Yakko has primarily black fur with a red nose and white face and feet.
